VCASA OVER-40S TO REPRESENT SOUTH AFRICA AT INAUGURAL IMC T20 WORLD CUP IN PAKISTAN

JOHANNESBURG: The Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa (VCASA) has announced the SA Veterans Over-40s team that will represent the country at the inaugural International Masters Cricket (IMC) Over-40s T20 World Cup taking place in Karachi, Pakistan from 18 November to 01 December 2025.
Led by captain, Yasser Ditta, the SA Veterans will compete against 11 other teams in the fast-paced T20 format for the first time.
Participating teams include South Africa, hosts Pakistan, the United States, Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Hong Kong, West Indies, a Rest of the World XI and a Rest of the Gulf XI.
Inspired by the recent success of the Proteas in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, and the SA Veterans Over-40s ODI team, who were crowned champions of the IMC Over-40s ODI World Cup held in Cape Town in 2024, the team aims to follow these historic victories that have set a high benchmark for South African cricket, igniting national pride across generations.
SA’s first match will see them face tournament hosts, Pakistan, on Saturday 22 November at 10h45 (SAST), in what promises to be a thrilling tournament opener at the National Bank Stadium.
The Pakistani squad is likely to feature legendary names such as Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq and mentor Javed Miandad, adding prestige and firepower to the contest.

For final preparations, the team will assemble for a three-day high-performance camp at the CSA High Performance Centre in Tshwane from 15-18 November 2025, focusing on tactical preparation, fitness, team culture and travel readiness.
The SA Veterans’ participation underscores Cricket South Africa’s commitment to inclusive and lifelong sporting excellence and the team looks forward to engaging with global counterparts in the spirit of competition and friendship.
