Based in Potchefstroom and representing North West Cricket, the Eastvaal Renault Dragons continue to build their reputation as a competitive and ambitious force in South African domestic cricket.
With JB Marks Oval as their home ground, and a strong student fan base, the Dragons are known for their strong regional identity, disciplined performances and a growing ability to challenge more established unions.
They endured a mixed 2024/25 season, and while they didn’t reach the final stages across the formats, the campaign featured consistent contributions from key players and reaffirmed the union’s ability to compete with the best.
The team is captained by experienced batter Wihan Lubbe, whose leadership and run-scoring earned him the Player of the Season award. Head coach Craig Alexander, a former franchise fast bowler, brings tactical sharpness and a developmental focus to the role and will be looking forward to a better all-round campaign.
