Boland Cricket, based in Paarl and represented by the Goldrush Boland, is a rising force in South African domestic cricket. Known for its passionate fan base at Boland Park and strong regional identity, Boland has built a reputation for nurturing gritty, homegrown talent and punching above its weight in national competitions.
Their 2021/22 T20 Challenge title marked a breakthrough moment when they became champions for the first time as a standalone union, showcasing their depth and competitive spirit.
They also reached the 2024/25 1-Day Cup final where they lost to the Hollywoodbets Dolphins.
The team is captained by former South Africa U19 World Cup winner, Clyde Fortuin, who has matured into a key figure for Boland. Former Proteas batter Justin Ontong, is the head coach, bringing his vast experience to the Cape Winelands union.
