21 Oct Woza Nawe: Willowmoore Park To Host Double Cricket Action
JOHANNESBURG: Cricket fans, brace yourselves for an unforgettable day of action-packed entertainment taking place at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
The Eastern Storm will face off against the ACDC Express Tuskers in the Division 2 T20 Knockout Final at 13h00, and as a special treat for fans, Willowmoore Park will also serve as a fan park for the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup 2024 Final, where the Proteas Women take on New Zealand at 16h00 in Dubai.
With gates opening at 11h30, cricket lovers are encouraged to bring their picnic baskets (excluding alcohol), camp chairs, and blankets, and get ready to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere filled with on-field action, entertainment, and community spirit.
Eastern Storm has had a strong run in the round-robin stage, with only one loss on their record; against the very team they face this Sunday, Tuskers.
Tuskers, who have had a few setbacks of their own, will be eager to pick up where they left off and challenge the Storm once again. The Pietermaritzburg-based side lost to Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badges before a nail-biting Super Over defeat to Mpumalanga Rhinos.
The two teams then emerged victorious in the semifinals: with Eastern Storm against Northern Cape Heat and Tuskers against Garden Route Badgers.
In addition to all the Division 2 T20 Knockout excitement, the fan park will feature exciting activations, including Woza Nawe t-shirts and bucket hats, giant inflatables, and plenty more to keep everyone entertained.
Don’t miss out on this incredible day of cricket at Willowmoore Park! Get ready to cheer on the Eastern Storm, ACDC Express Tuskers, and our Proteas Women as they chase World Cup Glory.
