South African bowling pair, Imran Tahir and Kagiso Rabada, finished the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season as the top two wicket takers.
Proteas leg spinner, Tahir, moved past his South African teammate with figures of 2/23 in the tournament final on Sunday.
In total, the 40-year-old took 26 wickets in 17 matches for the Chennai Super Kings at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of just 6.69 runs an over.
The Super Kings lost to Quinton de Kock's Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad by a single run. Victory secured a fourth title for the franchise with the Proteas wicketkeeper ending the campaign as the third highest run scorer.
Rabada finished on 25 wickets from just 12 matches at an average of 14.72 and an economy rate of 7.82. The Delhi Capitals quick had to cut short his IPL stay following an injury scare.
The 23-year-old, though, is expected to be fit for South Africa's World Cup opener against England at the end of the month.
