SA Invitational XI Squad Announced For Netherlands Tour Match

JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today named a 12-man SA Invitational XI squad to take on Netherlands in a 50-over match at TUKS Oval on Tuesday, 28 March.

Six Gun Grill Western Province batter Tony de Zorzi, who is currently part of the One-Day International squad against West Indies, will captain the side which boasts Proteas capped players including North West Dragons’ all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy and Dafabet Warriors wicket-keeper Sinethemba Qeshile.

CSA Director of Cricket Enoch Nkwe said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for these players to show what they can do against an international team. The exposure on its own will be great for the group.

“The match will also serve as preparation for the visitors ahead of the two-match sequence against South Africa later this month, which forms part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.”

High Performance Manager Vincent Barnes added: “We are also looking to grow our players base amongst all our national teams and this is a chance for the uncapped players in the squad to get a feel of what is like to play at the next level.

“The squad itself is a mix of experience and youth – players that have done well in domestic cricket over the past season. We look forward to seeing how they do against the Netherlands.”
