JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) is delighted to confirm the SA Emerging Women squad set to take on Bangladesh in the 50-over warm-up encounter on Tuesday, 12 December at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein as part of the Tigresses’ ongoing white ball tour to South Africa.

Leading the 13-player matchday squad is Proteas Women and Hollywoodbets Dolphins all-rounder Nondumiso Shangase.

Experienced fast bowler, Ayabonga Khaka is set to make a comeback after recovering from a knee injury, with an eye on regaining full fitness for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh scheduled between 16 – 23 December.

The warm-up clash also features Proteas Women players with ODI caps, including top-order batters Lara Goodall and Andrie Steyn, as well as the recently-capped T20 International all-rounder Eliz-Mari Marx.

Proteas Women Convenor of Selectors, Clinton du Preez commented:

“Our focus is on fostering growth and resilience within our squad. Testing the SA Emerging players against Bangladesh not only provides valuable experience but also ensures a robust future for South African women’s cricket.

“By offering game time to our fringe players and those returning from injury, we aim to strengthen our team’s depth and versatility. Our momentum from the recent T20I series victory over Zimbabwe is a foundation we are determined to build upon, showcasing the tenacity and skill that define women’s cricket in South Africa on the international stage,” he added.
