One Handed Catch Terms and Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

 

These Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) relate to the “T20 Challenge Win a Million One Hand Catch” Competition. Clause headings are inserted for convenience only and shall not be used in its interpretation. The following expressions shall bear the following meanings and related expressions bear corresponding meanings

 

  • “Competition” shall mean the “T20 Challenge Win a Million One Hand Catch” Competition;
  • “Event” shall mean the CSA T20 Challenge held during the period of 27 September 2024 to 27 October 2024;
  • “Event Organisers” shall mean the Promoter and any organisation authorised by the Promotor attend to the production of the Event until the finalisation of said Event;
  • “Event Broadcaster” shall mean Supersport , its affiliates and any person employed by
  • “Participant” shall mean any person over the age of 18 who enters to win this Competition and must be:
    • have a valid identity document, drivers licence or Passport evidencing his/her age and valid citizenship. Should the person not have the required documents on them at the time of the catch they have 24 hours to share the relevant information with the Promotor.
    • in possession of a valid South African Bank account in his/her own name; and
    • attending a televised T20 Challenge cricket match as a spectator only, during the Competition Period.
  • “Promoter” shall mean Cricket South Africa NPC (registration no. 2002/002614/08), a nonprofit company with limited liability incorporated in accordance with the laws of South Africa (“CSA”) with its head office located at 86, 5th Street, Melrose Estate, Johannesburg, 2196, Gauteng, South Africa.
  • “Competition Period” shall mean 27 September 2024 to 27 October 2024;
  • “Prize” shall mean R1 000 000.00 (One million South African Rands) or a portion thereof if there is more than one winner during the Competition Period;
  • “Winning Catch” shall mean a catch which qualifies to win the Competition as described in paragraph 4 below.

2. HOW TO ENTER

 

Catch a six with one hand at any of the T20 Challenge matches during the Competition Period.

 

3. PRIZE

 

  • The Prize of R1 000 000.00 (One million South African Rands) shall be awarded for any Winning Catch provided it is in accordance with these T&C’s for any person/s who catches a six with one hand.
  • Should there be more than one winner during the Competition Period, the Prize shall be shared equally between the winners.

 

4. THE WINNING CATCH

 

To qualify for the Prize, the following criteria will apply to a Winning Catch –

 

  • It must be a clean, one-handed catch off a ‘six’ hit during a televised T20 Challenge Cricket match taking place during the Competition Period; and
  • The catch must be captured and clearly visible on stadium video or TV camera/broadcast as it will be audited.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, a clean catch is one where the ball does not make contact with anything after leaving the bat until caught one-handed by the Participant after being struck out of the field of play.
  • Either hand can be used to make a clean catch.
  • No Prize will be awarded unless or until verification of the Winning Catch is made by the Promoter and the Promoter is satisfied, in its absolute discretion, that the criteria for a Winning Catch and the Competition’s T&C’s have been met.
  • In verifying the Winning Catch, Auditors will review the coverage of the catch made on stadium video or TV camera/broadcast.
  • Any alleged Winning Catch not captured on a camera and therefore not able to be reviewed by the Promoter will be deemed a non-eligible catch.
  • If a single Participant makes multiple Winning Catches in a accordance with these Terms and Conditions, they will be recognised as a multiple winner and will receive a proportional share of the Prize based on the number of Winning Catches.
  • The Promoter’s decision is final.

5. MATCHES

 

  • The Competition is for the Competition Period and will run during the T20 Challenge (scheduled to be played during the period from 27/09/2024 to 27/10/2024). Visit www.cricket.co.za for all the match fixtures.
  • The T20 Challenge schedule and individual match conditions, durations, dates and venues may be subject to change from time to time.
  • Any changes made to the schedule are outside of the Promoter’s control.
  • Participants will be solely responsible for ensuring that they keep up to date of all such changes.
  • The Promoter will not be liable to any person as a result of any such changes.

 

6. PROMOTIONAL PRIZE

 

The award of the Prize is subject to the following terms and conditions:

 

  • A participant who successfully completes a Winning Catch in accordance with the Competition’s T&C’s will be entitled to receive the Prize or a portion thereof;
  • The Prize will be a maximum of R1,000 000.00 (one million rand) or a portion thereof in the event of more than one Participant/s successfully completing a Winning Catch in accordance with these T&C’s;
  • The Prize will be paid by means of electronic funds transfer into the winner’s nominated South African bank account on a date to be advised by the Promoter;
  • The Prize will be paid to the winner/s at the end of the T20 Challenge and no later than 30 November 2024;
  • No person under 18 years of age is eligible to enter the Competition or receive the Prize;
  • The following are not eligible to participate:
    • employees of the Promotor, Events company, Event Broadcaster or any company within the same group of companies as the Promotor, their agents or anyone else professionally associated with the prize draw and their families;
    • other persons assisting with this competition; and
    • any person not being a natural person.
  • It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that the correct name, address, bank account details and contact information are provided to the Promoter;
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any Prize/s deposited into the wrong or incorrect bank account;
  • The Promoter reserves the right to conduct a security verification check at its absolute discretion;
  • A Prize winner may be required to sign a declaration confirming his or her eligibility to accept the Prize; and
  • The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity and proof of residency from any Prize winner. Proof of identity includes but is not limited to a valid Identity Document, driver’s licence and/or South African bank account details.

7. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

 

  • To participate in and/or claim a Prize in the Competition, Participants must be aged 18 years or older.
  • Entry into the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these T&C’s by each Participant.
  • Should there be a dispute, a Participant is entitled to make representations in writing to the Promoter during the Competition Period. The Promoter shall consider such representations and notify the Participant in writing as to the decision taken in respect of the dispute. The Promoter’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding. No reasons shall be required in respect of such decision and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to change the T&C’s without prior notice or extend, postpone or discontinue the Competition at any time.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw this Competition without notice in the event of force majeure. For the purposes of these T&C’s an event of force majeure shall include any event beyond the reasonable control of a party, such as war, earthquakes, disasters, calamities, strikes or similar circumstances (including the threat thereof).
  • The Promoter may refuse to award a prize to any Participant if, in the Promoter’s sole opinion, that Participant has violated the T&C’s or has gained an unfair advantage in participating in the Competition.
  • The Prize is non-transferable.
  • All Participants enter and participate in this Competition at their own risk. The Promoter will not be liable for any damage or injury whatsoever incurred by any Participant when participating in the Competition (including but not limited to any indirect or consequential loss).
  • All Prizes are received entirely at the Prize winner’s own risk.
  • Prize winners indemnify the Promoter against any liability for accident or loss of life, personal injury, property damage or other loss, cost or expense arising from any claim by any third party in connection with their participation in the Competition.
  • Prize winners will be required to sign a waiver agreement before accepting the Prize.
  • Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from the Prize winnings and the liability for such tax as well as any independent tax and financial advice that a winning Participant may seek shall be at his/her cost and account.
  • The Promotion commences at 10h00am on 27/09/2024.
  • The Promotion closes at midnight on 27/10/2024. No entries will be accepted outside of these dates.
  • These T&C’s are subject to all applicable venue and licensing laws and regulations.
  • These T&C’s will be made available on the Promoter’s website at www.cricket.co.za and at all venues hosting the T20 Challenge during the Competition Period.
  • By reading and accepting these terms and conditions, the Participant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the Promoter; the event organizer, the team and any of their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the Competition and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or willful misconduct of any indemnified party.
  • The Promoter; the event organizer, Event Broadcaster; their directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services in connection with this Competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the above named parties and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not permitted to participate in this Competition.
  • The Promoters, event organizer their directors, employees, agents and distributors, are not responsible for any misrepresentation (whether written or verbal) in respect of the Prize nor in respect of any warranties or undertakings given by any person other than the Promoters themselves.
  • The Promoter may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement to enable the Promoter to ensure compliance with these Terms and Conditions. Should the winner be found not to have complied with these Terms and Conditions, he/she will automatically be disqualified, and the prize will be forfeited. Winners may also be required to sign acceptance of prizes and indemnity documents. In order to claim a prize, winners must also submit FICA verification documents. The prize is not transferable, and no substitution is permitted. The prize will not be handed/awarded to a third party, but only to the verified Prize winner.
  • Participants participate entirely at their own risk. By reading these terms and conditions and participating in the promotion, the Participant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the Promoter, their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries, and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the Promotion and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries or losses are sustained as a result of gross negligence or willful misconduct of any of the Promoter.
  • Self-excluded individuals are excluded from entering.
  • These Terms and Conditions override any advertising collateral or material in the event of any conflict.

8. PROMOTIONS AND USE OF INFORMATION

 

By participating in the Competition, Participants consent to

 

  • the use of their name, photograph and TV footage for any promotional purposes carried out by the Promoter;
  • attending prize giving and other promotions in the Promoters Brand / Clothing; and
  • the Promoter retaining the Participant’s personal information in order to conduct and administer the Promotions and for future promotions carried out by the Promoter.
