CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) has congratulated one of its senior umpires, Shaun George, on reaching the landmark of 50 caps as an on-field match official in One-Day International matches.

He reached his half-century of appointments when he took the field for the ODI between Ireland and Zimbabwe in Belfast, Northern Ireland, today.

“Congratulations to Shaun on reaching this major milestone in his career,” commented CSA Chief Executive Thabang Moroe. “Our match officials continue to represent us with distinction in international cricket and we are proud of them.

“In recent years Shaun has been appointed to the Final of the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017 as well as the ICC under-19 World Cup the following year and this is another feather in his cap.

“We are also delighted to congratulate our senior umpire, Marais Erasmus, on his appointment to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-final between Australia and England this coming week,” concluded Mr. Moroe.
