LIONS ROAR INTO ANOTHER HOME FINAL

JOHANNESBURG: Reigning CSA 4-Day Series Champions, DP World Lions, secured a home final with a commanding eight-wicket victory (DLS Method) over Momentum Multiply Titans in the CSA T20 Challenge semi-final on Wednesday.

Opting to field first after winning the toss at the DP World Wanderers, the Lions efficiently restricted the Titans to 131/9.

Jack Lees led the Titans’ batting with an unbeaten 64* off 43 deliveries, receiving sole support from Rivaldo Moonsamy (24) in the dominant Lions’ bowling attack.

Young sensation, Nqaba Peter, earned bowler of the match with figures of 4/18 in four overs, further establishing his presence in the competition.

Codi Yusuf claimed two wickets, contributing to the Lions’ strong bowling performance as everyone chipped in to restrain their neighbouring rivals.

Chasing a target of 132, the Lions faced an early setback with the loss of Reeza Hendricks. However, Rassie van der Dussen’s unbeaten 73*, along with contributions from Ryan Rickelton (38) and Temba Bavuma (19*), ensured a smooth chase as the hosts reached 134/2 in 14.4 overs.
