KNIGHTS AND DOLPHINS SHARE SPOILS AS TITANS SECURE A NARROW WIN AGAINST WARRIORS

POTCHEFSTROOM: The Momentum Multiply Titans secured a narrow two-wicket victory against the Dafabet Warriors on Friday afternoon.

After opting to bat first, Warriors stumbled with the bat, posting a total of only 119 runs. Notable contributions were in the 20s from Jordan Hermann (27), Matthew Breetzke (26), and Lesiba Ngoepe (20) to finish the innings on 119/7.

Simon Harmer (2/12) was economical in his four overs with the dismissals of Wihan Lubbe for six and Diego Rosier with fourteen runs. Aaron Phangiso registered best figures of 4/23 after dismissing Ngoepe, Hermann, Sinethemba Qeshile with just three runs and Glenton Stuurman for none.

The Titans’ batting line-up also struggled to make any runs after a top order collapse, with captain, Sibonelo Makhanya, contributing 21 runs. But it was the unbeaten 43-run partnership for the nineth-wicket between Dayyaan Galiem (29*) and Junior Dala (14*) that ensured the Titans take home yet another victory.

Warriors bowlers tried to quell the run-rate but it was just not enough runs on the board to defend. Tshepo Ndwandwa, Glenton Stuurman, Akhona Mnyaka, and Ziyaad Abrahams all claiming two wickets each.

In the second match of the day, the ITEC Knights were put to the bat first after the Hollywoodbets Dolphins won the toss.

The Knights were battling on 100/9 in 17.1 overs with the only solid contribution a 32 off 17 from Jacques Snyman before rain stopped play.

Jon Jon Smuts and Prenelan Subrayen spearheaded the attack with two wickets each and every one chipped with single scalps and brilliant runouts.

The match was later abandoned due to persistent rain.
