22 Feb Erwee And Rickelton Hit Tons On Day 3 Of The CSA 4-Day Series
JOHANNESBURG: The Cricket South Africa (CSA) 4-Day Series has been nothing short of action this week in the two encounters that are not heavily affected by inclement weather in the highveld.
Sarel Erwee struck 132 runs off 141 balls for the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in the away match against ITEC Knights at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
The Dolphins opener was well supported by an unbeaten half century from Khaya Zondo (55*) and Grant Roelofsen, who fell one run short of a half-century, trapped lbw by Monde Maqunqu with 49 runs.
The visitors continued from their 125-run lead from day two and declared on 336/6, setting the target to 425 runs for the hosts.
Knights are currently on 84/2 after the early departure of Matthew Kleinveldt and Isaac Dikgale.
Meanwhile the DP World Wanderers has seen over 800 runs scored in the past three days after Dafabet Warriors set their first innings to 438.
DP World Lions replied with 433 runs after an all-round batting effort from Ryan Rickelton’s century (125 off 112), and half centuries from Temba Bavuma (67), Dominic Hendricks (62), and Joshua Richards (60) saw the hosts trail by just five runs.
Glenton Stuurman (3/73) and Beyers Swanepoel (3/74) were the most successful bowlers for the visitors.
Wet outfield at the Tuks and JB Marks Ovals prevented play for the third consecutive day between Momentum Multiply Titans and Gbets Rocks in Pretoria and North West Dragons and Six Gun Grill Western Province in Potchefstroom.
