Dolphins Claim Victory In Latest Round Of The CSA 4-Day Series

JOHANNESBURG: Hollywoodbets Dolphins secured a massive 279-run win against the ITEC Knights in the latest round of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) 4-Day Series in Bloemfontein.

Chasing 425 runs in the second innings, the Knights had a lot to do considering the loss of their openers with only 11 runs, combined.

Rynard van Tonder top scored for the hosts in his 63 off 157 as Dolphin’s Keshav Maharaj (6/43) continued the attack after a five-wicket haul in the first innings, claiming 11 wickets in total.

The hosts had little response to the destruction, with Pite van Biljon adding 27 runs as the Knights were bundled out for 145 runs.

Eathan Bosch also impressed with the ball, claiming three scalps and a sole wicket for Ottniel Baartman, who registered the dismissal of van Biljon.

At the DP World Wanderers, Matthew Breetzke struck an unbeaten century (102* off 180) on Day 4 to ensure the Dafabet Warriors keep their title hopes alive against DP World Lions.

Kyle Jacobs (54) and Beyers Swanepoel (30*) also contributed to Warriors’ second innings score of 255/7 before the captains shook hands to share the spoils in this high-scoring encounter in Johannesburg.

Kagiso Rabada (3/26) and Lutho Sipamla (2/32) had done well with ball, with Sipamla claiming six wickets in total.

Potchefstroom finally saw play on the final day after three days were called off due to a wet outfield.

The match ended in a draw, but the players got some action as Six Gun Grill Western Province scored 345/9 in 90 overs.

Western Province batters, Kyle Simmonds (70* off 75), Kyle Verreynne (64 off 113) scored half centuries whilst Zubayr Hamza (41), Yaseen Vallie (35), George Linde (32) and Tshepo Moreki (32) also added some notable contributions.

Renaldo Meyer (4/74) was the most successful bowler for the North West Dragons, followed by Eldred Hawken’s 2/78.

In Pretoria, the match between Momentum Multiply Titans and Gbets Rocks was called off without a ball bowled due to a wet outfield at the Tuks Oval.
