A lively cast of female artists and award-winning DJ’s headline the entertainment line-up for the opening ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match between South Africa and Sri Lanka at Newlands on 10 February. Singer of the event Anthem Rouge, electric band GoodLuck and popular DJ’s DBN Gogo and Maphorisa will set the stage in a South African inspired carnival to open the tournament in style.

Africa’s first Women’s T20 World Cup will be celebrated in a uniquely African way, with the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival, local Drum Majorettes and the South African Navy Band bringing the vibe in a jam-packed opening ceremony which is set to thrill and entertain.

“It’s my first time performing at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and I’m honoured. Everyone should get their tickets and pull up, it’s going to be a world-class performance, see you there, Danko,” the award-winning Amapiano artist said.

In addition to the entertainment, fans will be treated to fun giveaways, kids activity zones and fan club areas, making it a memorable and inclusive experience for everyone.

South Africa and Sri Lanka will kick-start 15 days of action-packed cricket across three venues of Newlands Cricket Ground, Boland Park and St George’s Park. Cape Town will host 12 matches including both semi-finals and the final, with Paarl hosting six matches and Gqeberha hosting five.

Fans can get in on the action by purchasing their tickets at www.t20worldcup.com/tickets or ticket offices at any of the venues.
