Day 5 Wrap – England Maintain Unbeaten Streak In 2023 II Trination Series

TSHWANE: England extended their undefeated run in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA II) Trination Series with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Australia on Friday.

After opting to bat first, Australia faced a quick downfall, getting bowled out in just under 16 overs. The English bowlers were instrumental in this feat, securing five crucial run-outs and collectively restricting Australia to a modest total of 99.

In response, England comfortably chased down the target, with Ronnie Jackson leading the charge with an unbeaten 53* off 34 deliveries. Daniel Bowser contributed 19 runs, Jonathan Gale added 15, and Christopher Edwards remained not out with 11*, solidifying England’s win.

On Thursday, South Africa (SA) came close but fell six runs short of the target against the Australian side.

Chasing 137 runs for victory, SA concluded their innings at 130/6. Key contributions came from Koketso Chabedi (26*), Mzwandile Mhlongo (25), and Jan Makololo (19*). Despite their efforts, South Africa couldn’t surpass the target set by Australia.
