14 Nov Day 2 Wrap – SA Concludes Double Header
TSHWANE: Day 2 of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA II) Trination Series saw South Africa (SA) take on England and Australia at Groenkloof Oval on Monday.
In the morning encounter against England, SA opted for the ball first and the visitors went on to set the target to 219 runs.
Daniel Bowser’s unbeaten ton of 121 off 67 (16 fours and 4 sixes) was backed by an unbeaten half century from Jonathan Gale (59 off 43) to power England to a massive total.
SA’s Carlos Pekeur claimed the sole wicket of Ronnie Jackson (12) as England ended the innings on 218/1.
Mpho Selaolane’s half century (79 off 52) was not enough as the hosts were restricted to 137/6 in their allotted 20 overs and England won the match by 81 runs.

In the second encounter of the day, SA was given the ball after Australia won the toss and opted to bat first.
Lukas Woodhouse (60) and Gavan Hicks (47) helped the visitors to 177/6 in their 20 overs.
The SA lineup struggled in their response, restricted to 89/9 and the visitors won the match by 88 runs.
Patrick Wheeler registered a five-wicket haul in his 5/19 as Australia successfully defended the set target.
