CSA Scoops National Federation Of The Year Award At SA Sports Awards

JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has won the National Federation of the Year Award at the glittering 16th Annual SA Sports Awards that were held on Saturday night.

The Award comes at the back of CSA having hosted two successful International Cricket Council (ICC) events – the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s World Cup as well as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

CSA also has a solid administrative structure, powered by a full-compliment Executive, which supports the strategic direction of the organization as envisaged by the Board. This has enabled CSA to focus on its strategic pillars of excellence, access and inclusion.

Reacting to the Award, CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki said;

“It is humbling to have been recognised at such a level. Our approach to our work is getting the basics right, and that has been our focus. We are intentional in ensuring that our governance systems are beyond reproach and that we are transparent, accessible, and accountable.

“We take our mandate seriously and are always keen to reach the furthest corners of the country and change lives through this beautiful game.

“I thank the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture for recognising the gains that we have made in positioning cricket as sport of choice in South Africa.

“I also thank the CSA Members’ Council, Board, Executive, Staff and Members/Affiliates for enabling the work that we do. In a special way this Award is affirmation of the power of the collective’s commitment to serve cricket. It enjoins us to continue in that trajectory with renewed energy and vigour.”
