POLOKWANE: Day 2 of the CSA Rural Inland Week recorded some of the best scores in the tournament thus far, with more than 500 runs in one game, centuries, and 5 wicket hauls, the action continues in Limpopo today.

Two centuries on the day from KZN Coastal’ s Sachin Kalkepersad (112*) and North West’s Carlo Erasmus (110), and two 5-wicket hauls from Central Gauteng’s Brendon Nortje (5/16) and KZN-Inland’s Nicholas Hewer (6/19).

Central Gauteng Lions took on Limpopo at Pietersburg High School. After winning the toss, CGL elected to bat first, posting a total of 138 and successfully defended the score as they limited Limpopo for 110 runs, with Brendon Nortje claiming 5 wickets. CGL won by 28 runs.

Free State won the toss against KZN-Inland at Nirvana CC, opting to bowl first and restricted the KZN side to 162 all out before being bowled out for 104 runs. KZN-Inland won by 58 runs as Nicholas Hewer claimed 6 wickets.

At Limpopo CC A field, Northern Cape won the toss and elected to bat against KZN-Coastal, posting a total of 172 runs as KZN-Coastal recorded another successful run chase, winning the game by 9 wickets.

In the highest scoring match of the day, Mpumalanga won the toss and elected to bat against North West, posting a total of 250 runs. North West delivered a great performance, successfully chasing the score and won the game by 5 wickets.
