OUDTSHOORN: The first round of the Cricket South Africa Rural Coastal Week kicked-off yesterday as Border Villages, Boland and hosts, SWD claimed huge victories on the day.
The first round two rounds of the tournament consist of 50 over games and will move to the T20 format with double header games over the weekend.
Hosts, SWD secured an 85-run victory over EP Grahamstown. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the hosts set the target on 203 runs before bowling out the EP Grahamstown with 117 runs.

Boland’s bowling attack dominated the EP Midlands side, bowling them out with just 54 runs and went on to win the game with the loss of just one wicket.

Border Aloes and Border Country went head-to-head at Oudtshoorn High School. Aloes were put to the bat first, ending their innings on 171 all out before restricting Country to 144 runs, winning the game by 26 runs.

KEI won the toss, opting to field first and Border Villages used that to their advantage, setting the highest score of the day, a target that proved just too high for their opponents. Border Villages won by 150 runs.
