CSA Professional Women’s Domestic League Set To Go Down To The Wire

JOHANNESBURG: As the inaugural Cricket South Africa (CSA) Professional Women’s Domestic League approaches its thrilling conclusion, only one round of matches remains in Division 1, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In the Women’s CSA T20 Challenge, World Sports Betting Western Province has emerged as the undisputed champions, securing an unassailable lead in the log. Regardless of the outcome of their upcoming match against the Fidelity Titans at WSB Newlands on Sunday, Western Province has already claimed victory in the competition.

Fans can catch the action live on SuperSport, as the champions take to the field for their final showdown this season.

Adding to the excitement, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins, current log leaders of the CSA 1-Day Cup, are gearing up for a crucial match against the DP World Lions at the Wanderers on Saturday, 13 April 2024.

The Lions are in hot pursuit, needing a bonus point victory to leapfrog the Dolphins and seize the title.

Meanwhile, in Oudtshoorn, the Women’s Division 2 Week is in full swing. All 10 teams will compete in cross-pool matches, with points earned throughout the week poised to determine the combined log for the next season. These standings will play a crucial role in determining promotions to Division 1, adding an additional layer of competitiveness to the ongoing matches.

CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, commented;

“The CSA Professional Women’s Domestic League has continued to grow from strength to strength, unearthing new talent, providing stability and professionalism to the entire women’s pipeline.

“The league has also showcased the immense talent and competitiveness within South African cricket and has become a beacon for aspiring cricketers and a testament to the dedication and passion within our structures.

“We look forward to its continued success, providing the supporters with electrifying matches, building on rivalries and cricketing excellence throughout the seasons,” said Moseki.
