24 Feb CSA Announce Girls’ U19 T20 National Championship
STELLENBOSCH: The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup legacy has opened up more opportunities for female cricketers to participate in the sport, with Cricket South Africa (CSA) announcing the inaugural CSA Girls’ U19 T20 National Championships to be held from 24 – 25 February 2023 in Stellenbosch.

Nomandi JSS of Kei Cricket made it to the championships against Border and Eastern Province Cricket.
All matches will take place at the University of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape.
The teams will also have an opportunity to take inspiration from their role models when they attend the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Newlands Cricket Ground on Sunday, 26 February 2023.
Local Organising Committee (LOC) Legacy Projects lead, Johan Weyers, said; “2023 has marked an important milestone in the country when it comes to raising the profile of women’s cricket.
“In the first two months of the year, we have successfully hosted the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, respectively.
“It was important for the organisation to bring in young female cricketers across the country to be part of the legacy of the two events,” Weyers continued.
“The events have allowed us to dig deep into our women’s development pipeline in a bid to increase the pool of female cricketers to sustain a healthy pipeline for our women’s team.
“We hope the competition can thrive and help us in our journey to build future stars of the women’s game,” concluded Weyers.
