30 Jun Cricket South Africa And KFC Continue To Celebrate KFC Mini Cricket Volunteers 2023 KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar: 02 – 05 July
JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) in partnership with KFC announce the highly anticipated KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar, which will be held in Durban between 02 – 05 July 2023.
The KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar is a flagship event within the program, and brings together mini- cricket volunteer coaches, and officials from various regions across the country.
This provides a platform for knowledge sharing, best practice discussions, and strategic planning, with the goal of enhancing the impact, reach and opportunities to engage an even larger number of children in South Africa’s largest grassroots programs.
During the seminar, participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions led by renowned cricketing experts. The aim is to equip coaches with the necessary skills and tools to effectively nurture young cricket talent.
CSA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pholetsi Moseki commented;
“The KFC Mini-Cricket programme, has grown exponentially over the past four decades and has played a pivotal role in introducing cricket to countless children in South Africa. By providing opportunities for children to experience the joy of cricket through fun and engaging activities, the program has helped build a solid foundation of talent and passion for the sport.

The KFC Mini-Cricket National Seminar will see CSA and KFC Executives in attendance. The event will further be supported with the appearance of Proteas Men and Women players; Nonkululeko Mlaba, Masabata Klaas as well as other exceptional speakers who will be sharing learnings and throwing forward to the upcoming season.

KFC Mini-Cricket provides a platform for kids in South Africa to have fun and get active. KFC Mini-Cricket is one of the largest grassroots development sports programme in South Africa and is also an essential building block for learning cricketing basics and entrenching a love for the game. This is the 40th anniversary of Mini-Cricket in South Africa and 14th season of KFC’s sponsorship. In the previous full season, 2019/20 there were over 126 000 kids from over 6600 schools active in the KFC Mini-Cricket programme who are coached by over 13 600 volunteer coaches. Year on year there are a minimum of 45 000 matches played each year. KFC has sponsored KFC Mini-Cricket since 2010 and in the 2012/13 cricket season KFC became the title sponsor of the KFC T20 Internationals.
