The Cricket Services Department offers programmes that cover all aspects of amateur and professional cricket in South Africa for both men and women and starts with the KFC Mini-Cricket Programme and tracks the growth of all who want to play the game through the various stages that follow. These include the introduction to hard ball cricket, the development of excellence through the various provincial age group tournaments, the Talent Acceleration Programme (TAP), club cricket and finally up to the semi-professional level of affiliate cricket, the fully professional franchise system and finally to the very pinnacle of playing international cricket at South Africa A and Proteas level.
The ultimate aim is for the Proteas national women’s and men’s team to become the dominant force in world cricket across all three formats. These various stages of development are the pillars on which Cricket South Africa’s vision is based to become a truly national sport that is available to all who want to play it.
