Another Kruger Ton Guides Warriors To Victory In Gqeberha

JOHANNESBURG: The Dafabet Warriors claimed a consecutive win in their 109-run victory against Momentum Multiply Titans in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) 1 Day Cup on Sunday.

Warriors, who suffered two washed-out matches went on to win their encounter against DP World Lions in the Bullring before thumping Titans at home two day later.

Patrick Kruger delivered an unbeaten 135* off 90 against Lions on Friday, and today, he smashed 109 off 106 before he fell to Junior Dala (2/58) in the 47th over.

Tristan Stubbs also starred with the bat today, blasting 159 off 117 (10 boundaries and 8 maximums) as Warriors amassed 316/7 in 50 overs.

Titans were then bundled out for 207 in just under 41 overs with notable contributions from Rivaldo Moonsamy and Donavan Ferreira who scored 42 runs each.

Renaldo Meyer (4/31) was the chief destroyer, backed by Beyers Swanepoel, Alfred Mothoa, and Sean Whitehead who took two wickets each.

Meanwhile, North West Dragons secured a 20-run win against AET Tuskers (DLS Method) in a rain interrupted encounter in Pietermaritzburg.

After being asked to bat first, Dragons opener, Lesego Senokwane came through with a ton in his run-a-ball 109 which included 16 boundaries. He had the support of Raynard Van Tonder (73 off 88) and an all-round effort which saw the visitors end the innings on 289/9 in their allotted 50 overs.

Mbulelo Budaza continued his wicket taking streak, recording 3/53 whilst Michael Erlank and Alindile Mhletywa returned two scalps each.

Tuskers were well in with their response on 127/3, with Kagiso Rapulana (59*) and Pite van Biljon (19*) when rain came down in the 29th over, and players never made it back to the park.

Wihan Lubbe had already facilitated the dismissals of Tian Koekemoer(34) and Erlank for none in the 18th over, trapping them both lbw.

In Division 2, the ITEC Knights won by five wickets against Eastern Cape Iinyathi at the Mangaung Oval whilst Eastern Storm won by six wickets against Mpumalanga Rhinos in Willowmoore Park.
