World Sports Betting Western Province – Men

About the Team

Western Province Cricket, based in Cape Town and represented by the World Sports Betting (WSB) Western Province, remains one of South Africa’s most storied and influential unions.

With WSB Newlands as their iconic home ground, the Boys in Blue boast a rich legacy of producing Proteas greats and consistently competing at the top level of domestic cricket. Their strong pipeline and high-performance culture mean they are perennial contenders on all fronts.

In recent seasons, the team has built strong momentum in its quest to end a long silverware drought – clinching the 2023/24 CSA One-Day Cup, reaching the CSA 4-Day Series Final, and retaining a solid core of players for the 2025/26 campaign.

Leading the charge are Proteas stars David Bedingham, Tony de Zorzi, and Kyle Verreynne. Adding to the depth of talent are former SA U/19 captain Juan James, along with his U/19 teammates Oliver Whitehead and Raeeq Daniels – promising players who represent the next generation of Western Province cricket.

Head coach Rory Kleinveldt, himself a former Proteas fast bowler and Western Province stalwart, brings tactical insight and a deep understanding of local conditions to the role. Together, they lead a squad that blends emerging talent with hardened domestic performers, keeping Western Province competitive across formats.
