06 Nov WESTERN PROVINCE EDGE LIONS TO A NARROW THREE-RUN VICTORY IN JOHANNESBURG
JOHANNESBURG: Western Province secured a narrow three-run win against their hosts, DP World Lions, in the T20 Challenge of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Professional Domestic Women’s League on Sunday.
Batting first, Western Province’s Faye Tunnicliffe’s half century (50) backed in the double digits by Kelsey Adams (29) powered WP to a 134/7 innings score in their allotted 20 overs.
Samantha Schutte (3/29) and Relebohile Mkhize (2/13) were the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, with the visitors also suffering two runouts in their innings.
Lions were then restricted to 131/8 in 20 overs, falling three runs short of the set target. Sunette Viljoen-Louw (39), Madison Landsman (31), and Nonkululeko Thabethe (28) were the leading run scorers in the almost successful run-chase.
Leah Jones (2/19) and Saarah Smith (2/21) both returned two scalps each to help restrict the hosts in the chase.

In Pretoria, Fidelity Titans secured a comfortable five-wicket victory against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins.
After being put to the bat first, an unbeaten half century from Nondumiso Shangase (57*), supported by Courtney Gouden (42) helped Dolphins end the innings on 140/4.
With the target set to 141 runs, Titans batters paced the chase well as contributions from Tebogo Macheke (48), Anneke Bosch (30), Eliz-Mari Marx (22) and Masabata Klaas (20*) saw Titans successfully chase the target, with four balls to spare.
