09 Nov MALAN HUNDRED LIGHTS UP FINAL DAY OF 4-DAY SERIES SECOND ROUND
JOHANNESBURG: Domestic cricket veteran Pieter Malan brought up his 36th career First-Class century on day four of the CSA Four-Day Domestic Series second round game for the Gbets Rocks against his former team, the Six Gun Grill Western Province in Paarl on Monday.
The clash was part of a seven-game offering taking place between 05-08 November across Division One and Two, with matches available on SuperSport’s YouTube Channel.
Resuming the day on 106 / 0 with P. Malan ( 41*) and Isma-eel Gafieldien (60*) looking settled at the crease, Western Province picked up two early wickets in the morning session before P. Malan found willing partners in Janneman Malan (29) and all-rounder, Ferisco Adams (50*).
The opening batter added 52 and 91 runs respectively, with J. Malan and Adams, on his way to an unbeaten 117* off 349 balls (12 fours) before both captains shook hands at Tea.
Kyle Simmonds (3 – 81) was the standout bowler for WP in the final innings.
In Tshwane, there was no play possible due to the downpour of rain in the capital as the Momentum Multiply Titans and the Hollywoodbets Dolphins settled for a draw in their second four-day game of the season.
The third round of the CSA Four-Day Domestic Series across Division One and Two takes place from 18 – 21 November, while the Eastern Cape Iinyathi and the Mpumalanga Rhinos complete their second round between 12 – 15 November at Buffalo Park Stadium in East London.
