Disability Cricket

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has three Disability entities affiliated to organisation, namely Blind Cricket South Africa (BCSA); South African Deaf Cricket Association (SADCA) and South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA-II).

Currently the only assistance provided to them is a grant aimed at assisting the entities to conduct their Interprovincial Tournaments. CSA has also assisted the entities in the past with resources to partake or host International events.

League participation

Blind Cricket only have a senior structure which also caters for school-going children. Due to a limited number of club teams within an Affiliate or Associate, the clubs programme is coordinated amongst neighbouring Affiliate and/or Associates.

Deaf Cricket is incorporated within the main club league structures of an Affiliate/ Associate, with school leagues coordinated separately.

Intellectually Impaired Cricket is incorporated within the main club league structures of an Affiliate or Associate, with school leagues coordinated separately.

International participation

Blind Cricket participate in World Cup tournaments, planned to take place every second year, ODIs and T20s every four years.

Deaf Cricket played recently in a home series against England, have a T20 World cup planned for next year.

Intellectually Impaired Cricket has a formal agreement with Australia and England to partake in a Tri-Angular every second year.
