28 Feb 15 Wickets Fall On Day 1 Of Dolphins/Titans Clash
JOHANNESBURG: The Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Momentum Multiply Titans encounter got off to a dramatic start on Day 2 after an abandoned first day in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) 4-Day Series in Durban.
Titans were reduced to 165 all out by the hosts as Prenelan Subrayen recorded a career-best 7/52 after tearing through the Titans batting line-up.
Corbin Bosch top scored with 54 off 53, before he was caught and bowled by Jon-Jon Smuts (3/58).
Other notable contributions were in the twenties from Aya Gqamane (27) and Neil Brand (24), who both fell to Subrayen’s carnage.
The visitors have done well with the ball thus far, restricting hosts to 109/5 by the end of day’s play.
In Gqeberha, the ITEC Knights restricted Dafabet Warriors to 134 all out to take a 288-run lead after the first innings. They have extended their lead to 325 runs with eight wickets remaining, thanks to Bayers Swanepoel, who struck early to dismiss Isaac Dikgale and Pite van Biljon.
Meanwhile, Six Gun Grill Western province have comfortably matched DP World Lions 323 runs from their first innings.
Zubayr Hamza’s century of 129 off 177 anchored the innings and was well supported by half centuries from Kyle Verreynne (68) and Mihlali Mpongwana (62). Western province are currently on 386/9, in response to 323 runs from Lions first innings.
Lutho Sipamla continued to take crucial wickets for the hosts, returning 4/82 in 24 overs after seeing off both Verreynne and Mpongwana.
