Talbot scores first century of under-13 week

JEAN-LUC TALBOT scored the first century of this year’s CSA under-13 cricket week at Potchefstroom on Friday to help KwaZulu-Natal Coastal to draw with Western Province.

Talbot finished unbeaten on 116 as KZN reached 220/3 in reply to Western Province’s 232/8. It has been a prolific week for Talbot who has now scored almost 200 runs in three innings without being dismissed in any of them.

The best bowling performance of the day came from Jonathan Kruger of Eastern Province who took 6/40 in a low-scoring encounter against Gauteng that the latter won on the first innings. Chrispin McKenzie of Gauteng returned a fine all-round contribution, making an unbeaten 38 and then taking 2/7.

Michael Sprake of Zimbabwe (4/16) and Odirile Modimokoane (4/49) of North West had excellent bowling figures for the second day in a row.
