Cricket South Africa (CSA) and The Central Gauteng Lions (CGL) are delighted to announce that South Africa’s all-time favourite Momentum One-Day International, the world-renowned Pink Day, will take place at the beloved Bullring on 9 February 2020 (10h00 start).

To make it an even greater occasion the Standard Bank Proteas, currently ranked 5th in the ICC ODI standings, will challenge the current ICC Cricket World Cup champions, England, who are also the No. 1 ranked side. This is a guaranteed nail-biter and memory-maker!

Off-field records will be smashed too with Charlotte Maxeke Hospital once again the beneficiary of a match played in aid of breast cancer awareness with all funds being allocated towards breast cancer research.

“All the funds are channelled via a registered PBO with a whole host of donation mechanics including SMS, Snapscan and transfer,” explained Central Lions CEO Greg Fredericks. “For more information, fans can visit and go to when ticket sales open on 7 October.”

The media launch will take place on 1 October, when plans will be announced, asking fans to ‘Pitch Up in Pink’ come 9 February 2020. In addition, Pink Mondays will also be launched with great prizes on offer for fans pitching up to the office wearing a touch of pink.

The Pink Golf Day that will be held in February 2020 will be a further initiative to raise funds for this great cause.

“I would like to thank the Board of England whose players and team management have wholeheartedly supported the spirit of our Momentum Pink Day ODIs,” commented CSA Chief Executive Thabang Moroe. “They gave us similar support when they played in the memorable match in 2016 when Joe Root scored a century for England before the Proteas got home by one wicket in a thrilling finish. This is truly what sport can do.”
