Bodibe and Webster appointed to Eastern Cricket Union

Eastern cricket is proud to announce the appointment of Tumelo Bodibe as Assistant Coach to the Senior Provincial Team and Zane Webster as the Strength and conditioning coach to the Eastern Cricket Union.

Tumelo comes with a heap of Franchise and first class playing experience that spanned 13 years including playing at Easterns as a junior and senior cricketer. He is a previous captain of the union and has represented both the Titans and Knights at franchise level. He played 136 games and is well known for his superb work ethic, commitment and his passion for the game. He was apart of the Easterns culture last year and well respected within the union and his transition into the coaching setup was a natural succession.

Zane originally comes from Cape Town in tough circumstances and through sport and in particular cricket, he was able to overcome those circumstances. He has a BSC Honours and recently a masters in Sports Science. He also has sports massage and a level 2 coaching certificate to his name. He comes from being UWC strength and conditioning coach and has a cricket background having played Varsity cup and at University weeks.

The President and the ECU Board in-conjunction with the Management and staff as well as Head coach Richard Das Neves is delighted to have the two new appointments at the union. “We are extremely proud of the new appointments that have been conducted in a thoroughly professional manner. The expertise and work ethic of the two appointments brings our team together and fits in with the culture that Easterns are promoting. The ambition and aspirations of the two candidates was very evident. I am excited to have these guys on board and look forward to working with them for the betterment of the union.”
