De Klerk ton sets up massive Northerns victory

NADINE de Klerk hit 113 from 55 deliveries to set up Northerns’ 111-run win in their first round of T20 matches against North West in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Girls under-19 Week at St Albans College in Pretoria on Saturday.

De Klerk’s 113 included 19 fours and two sixes, while Tebogo Macheke chipped in with a 41-ball 42 to help their side to 183/9 at the end of their allotted 20-over innings after electing to bat first.

North West’s Liné du Preez (3/33) and Ane van Wyk (3/35) were the pick of the bowlers, taking six wickets between them.

Their batting reply did not go as well however. Paulinah Mashishi was too good, taking 4/14 to restrict North West to 72/7.
