CSA pays tribute to Dr. Richard Stretch

CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) has heard with sadness of the passing of Dr. Richard Stretch on Monday, 27 October in Port Elizabeth, at the age of 65 after a brief illness.

A wicketkeeper-batsman during his first-class career he also served Border Cricket as President and was a former member of CSA’s Medical Committee. He was Director of Sport at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) at the time of his death.

“Richard made notable contributions to cricket both as a player and as an administrator,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat. “On behalf of the CSA Family I extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
