10.13pm That's all from us. Hope you enjoyed ESPNcricinfo's coverage of the second ODI. See you soon for game 3, but till then, this is Sreshth Shah signing off. Bye bye!

10.06pm It's time for the presentation.

Faf du Plessis, the winning captain: These conditions are favourable a bit more. Batting second was going to be tricky, but pleased to see how we played. It was a good one-day wicket. But I'm very pleased at how we are chasing the game. We are staying positive, putting pressure on the opposition and so on. Excellent bowling effort by our boys, we kept pulling things back despite Mathews' knock. Planning and execution was good. My mental focus is on being positive, and I'm not thinking of the lack of fifties personally."

Angelo Mathews, the losing captain: "We gave away too many wickets up front. And then we lost wickets at crucial times too, so we never got going. We didn't hold on to catches as well, and while defending low scores, you need to hold on to every chance. We had a terrible day on the field. Neither did the bowlers bowl well. We were a bunch of schoolkids when it came to today's fielding. Dickwella's gone for a scan, but he should be okay. Akila is bowling brilliantly, so we do have some positives there. We are still alive in this series. My hands were tied in my knock, because we were losing wickets all the time, but pretty pleased on a personal note."

Quinton de Kock is the Man of the Match. He says: "Not sure what the secret to our success is. But yes, it's spinning less. Nice to know the work you're doing off the field is paying off. The last tour has been really difficult, and it's always challenging to bat in the Subcontinent. The pitch played the same all day. It was slower as the day progressed, but it was a similar pitch through the game."

9.56pm Smiles in the South African camp as they go 2-0 up in the five-game series. A forlorn look on Angelo Mathews and co. as they were outclassed for the second contest in a row. Back to the drawing board for them as the visitors have been better batsmen, bowlers and definitely better fielders than the hosts. The pacers set the game up today, but de Kock, Amla and du Plessis ensured it was a trouble-free chase. See you in a few minutes for the presentation.

Elijah2800: "Had Sri Lanka been more discipline in the outfield, this came could of have a different result. Need to be more vigilant & back up the bowlers more with the world cup around the corner, with batsmem scoring double centries & soon triple centries in ODI ain't no room for dropping dollies."

Philip Mitra: "Make Lakmal captain, he is a lucky guy. Stats will confirm that."

Sinthujan: "Malinga's 4 in 4 come to my mind now."

42.5CAK Rajitha to PWA Mulder, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, full outside off, and the square drive races away to the cover boundary! South Africa go 2-0 up.
42.4CAK Rajitha to PWA Mulder, No run, good length outside off, and flying over the bat's shoulder to the keeper.
42.3CAK Rajitha to AL Phehlukwayo, 1 run, short on leg, and the pull goes to deep backward square leg for one.

Mafas: "SL also unlucky, I'm also unlucky, cricinfo never post my comments more than 7years since I start to comments :"

42.2CAK Rajitha to AL Phehlukwayo, No run, full on off but angling away from Phehlukwayo. Tries to drive over cover but misses out complelely.

Daniel F: "@Naman, i agree. But in the previous 5 world cups they were almost always marked as favourites and failed, so I don't think being somewhat short of being ready is all that bad. Maybe not being marked as favourites takes off a bit of pressure?"

42.1CAK Rajitha to PWA Mulder, 1 run, good length on middle, but angling down leg. Mulder simply flicks it along the ball's trajectory to fine leg.

Naman: "I'd say South Africa's bowling is about 80% ready for the World Cup, given everyone stays fit, but their batting is at a solid 30%. This batting lineup won't survive against an experienced bowling lineup. They need Amla, du Plessis and Miller to be in the forms of their lives to have a chance next year."

Kiki_doyoulovem: "I think the key area for SL to really stand a chance in the 2019 WC is consistency. If you look at the ODI/T20 side and the test side that's the main difference. We have Dimuth who's showing consistency at the top, Chandi, Mendis and Dhananjaya in the middle order &Lakmal,Herath, Dilruwan with the ball. Without having bowlers who can always create chances, show ability of taking 10 wickets and having batsmen who can always chip in with substantial contributions SL doesn't stand a chance in CWC."

Hamza: "@ Brown_and_Proud: thats completely inaccurate. RSA is making an effort with transformation targets, and no, Markram has not "booked" himself with 100 tests and 300 ODI's. Maybe only Kohli is guaranteed that, not Markram. "

Brown_and_Proud: "I didn't say that he will be dropped, quite the opposite; I said that if he were a darker skin colour, then he would definitely be dropped. As it stands, he has booked himself in for 100 Tests and 300 ODI caps. Yes, clearly he is talented and he will make many runs for RSA, but right here, right now, he looks all at sea. Re: Hashim Amla - please don't try and compare the two, Hash is going to retire after the WC and he was dropped in his younger days when he struggled... Thank you come again."

Inteser: "I think the short stint at captaincy during the India series and the thrashing SA received, has taken toll on Markram. He hasn't looked anywhere near his best since then. I'm all for giving him a lot more time to get back into his groove, but if SA are to have any good chance at the WC, he needs to step up. The middle order despite having the experience of Duminy and Miller is still extremely fragile."

Daryn: "Lets not forget that Markram is also batting out of position, I feel he should open with QdK and bat Amla at 3..."

Adam: "As a proud Scot seeing us 6th on that list you'll have to remind me again why there's not more teams in next year's world cup" -- Baffling. I agree.

Yes, he will need time to adjust to the subcontinent in future tours. But to say he should be dropped NOW is ridiculous. Lest we forget how long it took Amla to come right... "

Moses: "Brown & Proud- While I do agree with the principle behind your point, I disagree the player you are making the point about. Markram is a special talent! Special players you give more time."

Stephen: "@Brown: Its true he is having a horrible series. Such a shame cause look back at that innings against the Aussies in the first test match. No doubt he has class. But the slower wickets and a spinning ball has got him all confused and clueless. Klaassen should be given a change the remaining ODI's"
