|9.3||AJ Nair to CA Ingram, 1 run, full and pushed across around middle, eased down to long-off.|
|9.2||AJ Nair to CA Ingram, 2 runs, fuller ball on the pads, clipped off them to the on side.|
|9.1||AJ Nair to CA Ingram, No run, flicked into the leg side, behind square.|
|8.6||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, OUT, No run, a poor shot. Goes for a flick which was a poor shot to begin with as it's against the turn, especially with the ball slanted across. But this one's a googly which spins in to beat the inside edge and take out off-stump.|
|8.5||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, No run,|
|8.4||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, BOUNDARY, 6 runs, superb catch at long-on Or is it?. Gets down for another slog but this time the ball's been slanted across more sharply to him, leaving him to fetch it from outside off. Skews it off the splice of the bat to long-on. But there is lot of power so it still carries quite a distance. The fielder takes it reverse-cupped but was moving back and as the momentum carries him towards the ropes, he throws the ball in the air, steps out, comes back into the field of play and completes the catch. But he didn't release the ball in time. Still a good effort.|
|8.3||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, this time it's the right length to be playing that shot. Full and enough room, a slog sweep through midwicket.|
|8.2||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, No run, a flat length ball, gets down for a sweep but cannot middle it.|
|8.1||Fawad Ahmed to TM Head, OUT, No run, loses shape as he comes down the ground and lofts this one. Probably because of the drift. Seemed a bit too sharp. It was the right length but he was opened up slightly because of the ball going away from him and skewed it off the splice to hole out to long-on.|
|7.6||AJ Nair to TM Head, 1 run, flat back of a length, punched to long-on from front of leg stump.|
|7.5||AJ Nair to TM Head, 2 runs, comes down the track and tries to heave, gets it down to wide long-on off the inside of the bat.|
|7.4||AJ Nair to AT Carey, 1 run, comes down again and this time meets the pitch to drive to long-off.|
|7.3||AJ Nair to TM Head, LEG BYES, 1 run, comes slightly down the ground but the bowler follows him outside the leg-stump. Misses an attempted flick and the ball lobs behind the stumps off the pad.|
|7.2||AJ Nair to AT Carey, 1 run, some spin away from the left-hander, slashes a cut through the covers.|
|7.1||AJ Nair to TM Head, 1 run, fullish on middle and leg, pushed down to long-on.|
|6.6||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, No run, shortish, it's the googly and spins the other way, lets it come on before dabbing it towards point.|
|6.5||Fawad Ahmed to TM Head, 1 run, drilled hard down the ground.|
|6.4||Fawad Ahmed to TM Head, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, fullish length around the leg stump channel, gets down for a sweep and beats short fine leg diving to his right. Makes a clumsy effort to get down.|

|6.2||Fawad Ahmed to AT Carey, 2 runs, fuller delivery, whipped wide of long-on.|
|6.1||Fawad Ahmed to TM Head, 1 run, length, spins away towards off, eased down to long-on.|
|5.6||MJ McClenaghan to AT Carey, 2 runs, short of a length on middle and leg, tucked between mid-on and midwicket. There are two fielders closing in and they still take them on for a rapid second run.|
|5.5||MJ McClenaghan to AT Carey, No run, fullish, outside off, gets some shape away and finds the outside edge to short third man.|
|5.4||MJ McClenaghan to AT Carey, No run, back of a length on middle and off, defended.|
|5.3||MJ McClenaghan to AT Carey, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, fullish length outside off, and a crisp drive through the covers. Has split cover and point with precision here.|
|5.2||MJ McClenaghan to TM Head, 1 run, short and wide, slashes out a punch to point where Ferguson makes a diving stop.|
|5.1||MJ McClenaghan to TM Head, No run, good length on middle, defended.|
Rowan: "Too many dots! Feels like this happens in most Strikers games this year, even though they've only lost one game."
|4.6||CJ Green to AT Carey, No run, lots of loop and flight. Giving the room absolutely no room to open up. Choking him with tight lines. Another leg-stumpish full slider that's been pushed out down the pitch. Top over. Thunder nicely building pressure here.|
|4.5||CJ Green to AT Carey, No run, punched into the off side.|
|4.4||CJ Green to AT Carey, No run, full toss, angled in at leg stump, pushed back and Green dives to his right to make a clean stop with his outstretched right hand.|
|4.3||CJ Green to TM Head, 1 run, advances down the ground for a big heave and gets an inside edge that foes along the ground o the leg side.|
|4.2||CJ Green to TM Head, No run, full and sliding on leg, clipped to mid-on where McClenaghan dives to his left and stops it.|
|4.1||CJ Green to AT Carey, 1 run, loops up a full toss at 105kmph, hurriedly punched down the ground. Does well to control it.|
|3.6||GS Sandhu to TM Head, No run, fullish on the stumps, defended down the pitch.|
|3.5||GS Sandhu to J Weatherald, OUT, No run, edged and taken. Sandhu provides the breakthrough with an off-cutter that bounces more than expected. Tight line outside off, so draws the batsman forward and forces him to play at it. Because of the lack of pace, the edge doesn't quite carry but does well to compensate for that by diving forward to take the catch.|
|3.4||GS Sandhu to AT Carey, 1 run, short of a length, pitches outside leg, tucked to midwicket for one.|
|3.3||GS Sandhu to AT Carey, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, full and around the same line again. This time he has hammered a straight drive, to the left of mid-off. Shot.|
|3.2||GS Sandhu to AT Carey, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, what a shot! Ho ho.. Just presents the full face of the bat to this fuller delivery that's angled across him and chips it with superb timing well over mid-off.|
|3.1||GS Sandhu to AT Carey, No run, full and angled across well outside off, driven away.|
|2.6||CJ Green to J Weatherald, No run, full and angling in on leg, turned away to backward square leg.|
|2.5||CJ Green to AT Carey, 1 run, fullish on middle and leg, nudged into the square leg region for one.|
|2.4||CJ Green to AT Carey, No run, fuller, drilled hard to mid-off.|
|2.3||CJ Green to AT Carey, No run, stays in the crease and opens the face of his bat but is tucked up as the ball slides into him. Gets an inside edge that lands in front of the stumps.|

|1.2||MJ McClenaghan to J Weatherald, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, short and wide, swings hard and slaps it over point. Too much width.|
|1.1||MJ McClenaghan to J Weatherald, 2 runs, good length, slight shape away from him outside off, punched through the gap at covers.|
|0.6||SR Watson to J Weatherald, 1 run, back of a length, drops to mid-off for a quick single.|
|0.5||SR Watson to AT Carey, 1 run, back of a length on off, drops it into the point region and the fielder runs in, dives forward and nails a direct hit with one stump in vicinity but the batsman has made his ground. Good cricket all around.|
|0.4||SR Watson to J Weatherald, 1 run, edged and past the first slip fielder. Gets some prodigious movement off the seam and gets it to kick up slightly more than expected from a slightly short of a length to have him all squared up.|
|0.4||SR Watson to J Weatherald, WIDE, 1 run, short of a length, shapes into the left-hander slightly and drifts down the leg side.|
|0.3||SR Watson to J Weatherald, No run, full in the corridor of uncertainty. Left alone.|
|0.2||SR Watson to J Weatherald, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, short and wide, slashes a cut through the covers. That's a gift for a new batsman,or for any batsman.|
|0.1||SR Watson to AT Carey, LEG BYES, 1 run, full and some shape into the left-hander. Clips the pad as Carey looks for a flick.|
710pm All set for the start, ladies and gentlemen. Alex Carey to take strike and Shane Watson, the Sydney Thunder captain, will begin with the new ball. Here we go...
The Thunder started off on a winning note, prevailing in the Sydney derby against the Sixers, but haven't had a consistent run that has kept them among the top sides. They came pretty close to winning in a chase of 190 against the Hobart Hurricanes in the previous match but fell short by nine runs eventually.
The last time these two sides met, the Strikers dominated to come out on top by 53 runs. They then swept the Sydney leg, beating the Sixers by six runs and crushed the Birsbane Heat by 56 runs. But their juggernaut was halted by the Hobart Hurricanes in a thriller at the Bellerive Oval.
Arpit kumar: "Just wanna see gilly and punter into action somewhere between matches. #greats"
Sooryanarayanan: "Perhaps now is the time Watson the bowler steps up to the plate. He's been in good form with the bat but if he can offer more with the ball, it'll help his side even more. Plus of course, there's the IPL auction coming up."
Cameron: "Time for the Thunder middle order to really stand up tonight. Can't rely on Watson and Butler. Ferguson, an experienced campaigner, could be the man to do it."
The Strikers are playing the same XI tonight. As are the Thunder.
Strikers XI - Jake Weatherald, Alex Carey (wk), Travis Head (capt), Colin Ingram, Jon Wells, Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake
Thunder XI - Shane Watson (capt), Fawad Ahmed, Jos Buttler, Callum Ferguson, Ryan Gibson, Chris Green, Mitchell McClenaghan, Arjun Nair, Kurtis Patterson, Ben Rohrer, Gurinder Sandhu
