Eleven successive wins across formats for New Zealand. That's a new national record. Given the way the juggernaut has marched, will we see a 5-0 sweep? Or can Pakistan come hard for one final time and end up on the right side of the result? We will find out in due course. For now, this is all we have. Thanks for joining us. We hope you'll all be back for the final ODI on Friday. Goodbye from Alagappan and myself.

Ahmed Hayat: "Other than the abysmal performance by the batsman this series, what Pakistan has truly lacked are real fast bowlers than bowl upwards of 145KP, along with the selection of test batsman over the likes of haris sohail and a genuine all-rounder. Going forward Sarfaraz should ponder over his batting position and try open the batting or atleast come 1 down instead of facing the pressure when 5 wickets are down."

9.05pm Might is right. Colin de Grandhomme swears by that notion. That was some of the most brutal hitting you'll ever see. He walked in with the chips down and Pakistan scenting a victory. He's walking off having ensured his team has cantered to a five-wicket win. Don't forget Henry Nicholls' contribution. He was overshadowed by de Grandhomme's dominance, but he's played a match-winning knock as well. He struggled for fluency for large parts. When de Grandhomme walked in, another wicket at that stage could have truly put Pakistan on top. But Nicholls never gave up and ground it out. By the end of it all, he had made up for enough ground to notch up a half-century of his own. Disappointment again for Pakistan, but they have some positives they can take from this defeat. Not least a high-class display of legspin bowling from Shadab Khan. Their batsmen showed much better game awareness at least for the early parts of their innings and did not let Tim Southee's early strikes stagnate the scoreboard. But at the end of it all, they were probably a good 30-40 runs short.

"I felt like I'd been hitting well in the nets," de Grandhomme says. "Crucial for Henry to be there till the end. Everything seemed to be coming off the middle."

"Pakistan played very well. They soaked up some pressure with the bat early on and posted a comfortable score," says Kane Williamson. "We did not put up the smartest of batting performances until Colin came out. To see him play like that was special. We didn't think the surface took as much turn as we thought it would. A lot of credit goes to the top of the order as well. They got us off to a good start in the chase. And then Colin just came in and finished it off. We were under pressure for large parts of the batting innings, so feels nice to get across the line."

"Very disappointing but a few positives," says Sarfraz. "Fakhar batted well. But we're not finishing well. The way we finished (with the bat), we had lost of confidence, but de Grandhomme played like a great batsman. It was a great innings."

Sarah: "I'm telling myself I wont watch the last match but catch me sleep deprived and cursing on that day too. Cricket is truly like a drug"

zafarjaveds: "CDG played this innings in Highlights mode."

45.5Hasan Ali to HM Nicholls, 1 run, short ball, pulled comfortably to deep midwicket for the winning run.
45.4Hasan Ali to HM Nicholls, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, beautiful placement. And that's Nicholls' fifty What a vital knock from him. Sees width and plays late to punch through backward of point.
45.3Hasan Ali to C de Grandhomme, 1 run, a more controlled pull shot down to deep fine leg.
45.2Hasan Ali to C de Grandhomme, BOUNDARY, 4 runs, short ball, sitting up nicely around off. Hammers a pull to the left of the square leg umpire. If you're a fielder in the deep, don't bother moving, however close to you the ball is. This is brutal hitting.
45.1Hasan Ali to C de Grandhomme, No run, short of a length, defended from the crease.

Pakistan's bowlers are ahead in yet another low-scoring chase. New Zealand need 109 in 15 overs and their best batsman is gone. Wiliamson was whispering "come on, come on, come on, come on, come on..." as the ball sailed towards long-on. And then he slumps over his bat in utter disappointment. Anyway, here is Colin de Grandhomme.

hadi: "Oh man, Pakistan utterly deserved every milisecond of that wicket. Haris Sohail deserves a lot of credit apart from the stunningly calm catch by Rumman"

End of over 34. 3 runs this over. 151/4 after 203 balls.
HM Nicholls 22 (44b 0x4 0x6 ) Hasan Ali 6-0-36-0
KS Williamson 30 (48b 1x4 0x6 ) more

New Zealand need 111 off 16 overs

With the lights in effect, and the quicks operating, the ball is coming nicely onto the bat

Azik: "That should be the last over for Harris to cover Faheem's overs. Sarfraz should bring main bowlers from now on. One bad over can bring Pak down." --- But Sohail isn't doing too badly

End of over 33. 2 runs this over. 148/4 after 198 balls.
HM Nicholls 21 (40b 0x4 0x6 ) Haris Sohail 4-0-13-0

End of over 30. 7 runs this over. 138/4 after 180 balls.
KS Williamson 24 (38b 1x4 0x6 ) Faheem Ashraf 6-0-33-0
HM Nicholls 16 (31b 0x4 0x6 ) more

Uzair: "Guess Sarfaraz should have been attacking. Should have brought hasan or Amir into attack after getting those quick wickets. This is making them settle, not a good attacking move. Keeping their overs lefts is just wasting them because if they dont get wicket here, match is not getting to 50 overs complete."

Sarfraz is still fuming from that last goof up which gave away the first boundary since the 19th over

End of over 29. 2 runs this over. 131/4 after 174 balls.
KS Williamson 19 (34b 0x4 0x6 ) Haris Sohail 2-0-7-0

KS Williamson 16 (29b 0x4 0x6 ) Haris Sohail 1-0-5-0
HM Nicholls 11 (22b 0x4 0x6 ) more

The softer, older ball, on this pitch is best used by a spinner. But Pakistan better make sure their part-timers are on the money. Sohail, for his part, has delivered a fine first over. New Zealand still need 138 off 23 overs

End of over 26. 3 runs this over. 120/4 after 156 balls.

Shamaiel: "Last 10 overs 24 runs and 4 wickets what a come back by Pakistan "

Sid: "sarfaraz called the review for LBW, right? then why was it reviewed for caught behind?" --- Considering they checked for caught behind first, I think it was for a catch

KS Williamson 1 (7b 0x4 0x6 ) more

Jigar Shah: "KW and Latham are arguably the best spin bowling pair in the current NZ set up and has a right technique to negotiate the spin bowling. So it is safe to say the match is dependent on this pair. If pak gets wicket now, they will have a clear opening and if NZ manage next 10-12 overs without wicket, they are through"

End of over 18. 3 runs this over. 94/3 after 108 balls.
